# A person's page

A person's page answers two questions: who is this person, and what work is on this person.

In a view grouped by a people field, clicking a person's name in their group's heading opens their page.

The header holds the name, the role, the teams and whether the person is around.

## The work list

Below the header is the work assigned to that person. The list is read from the people fields on the items themselves.

You can filter the list, choose which columns it shows, and open any row into the item itself.

## Capacity and time off

When the page shows hours, a strip above the list compares the weeks ahead with what the person is actually available for. Availability includes time off. Work without estimates leaves those tracks empty.

Beside the list, a card shows the person's working week and their time off. A person with no working week of their own shows the organization default.

## Change a working week or time off

You can edit the card in place when you may change this person's capacity. On your own page that needs `capacity:update`. On someone else's page it also needs `capacity_others:update`. Everyone else sees the card read-only.

- Type the hours for each day. The week is saved when you leave the field.
- **Book time off** opens a calendar. The range you pick is booked as full days off.
- Point at a booking to add its reason or remove it.

These are the same changes the schedule view makes. `Ctrl-Z` undoes them. See [How capacity and time off work](../../how-it-works/capacity-and-time-off/).

## What other people can see

The page follows the same permissions as everything else. A viewer who may not look people up does not get the page at all. A viewer who may not read capacity sees the work without the availability.

In the working week card, a viewer who may not read capacity sees each booking as **Away** or **Reduced hours**, without its reason. That viewer cannot add a reason either.

A person who does not exist and a person you may not look up give the same refusal. See [Why was my request refused?](../../roles-and-access/why-was-my-request-refused/).

## Items left out

Some items may be assigned to the person and still not appear. The page tells you how many items were left out.
