What is an organization?

An organization is the space your work lives in. The items, the types and fields that describe them, and the views that display them, all belong to one organization. So do the teams, the roles and the people.

Nothing crosses from one organization to another. Your account belongs to a single organization.

You get in because someone already there invited you. What you may do once you are in comes from the role you hold.

  • Three roles — Administrator, Collaborator and Reader. See Roles and permissions.
  • One team, called Management. The person who created the organization is already in the team.
  • Three types — Project, Task and Issue.
  • Fifteen fields.
  • Three views — Projects, Tasks and Workload. All three are visible to everyone in the organization.
  • Fifteen example items.

One of those items is called READ_ME. The item explains the same four ideas as Types, fields, views and hierarchy, and is meant to be deleted when you are done with it.

The other fourteen items sit under two projects whose titles start with [Example Project]. Deleting those two projects removes all fourteen at once.

A member is a person with an account in the organization.

A team is a group of members. Teams can be nested. Granting something to a team covers the people in the team and in its sub-teams.
