Schedule view
What a lane and a bar are
Section titled “What a lane and a bar are”A schedule view lays items out on a time axis, split into lanes. Each lane is one value of the field the view groups by. Any field can group the view.
Each bar is one item, drawn from its start date to its end date.
Drag a bar to another lane, and the item takes that lane’s value in the grouping field.
Workload when the lanes are people
Section titled “Workload when the lanes are people”Group the view by a people field and map an estimate field, and the view adds workload:
- an hour strip for each column
- a total for each lane
- a red tint when the hours in a column exceed the lane’s capacity. A team lane’s capacity is the sum of its members’.
Group by any other field, or map no estimate, and the view is a plain grouped schedule.
A deleted user gets no lane. An item whose only person in the grouping field is a deleted user goes to the Unassigned lane.
An item with no estimate still has a bar. That bar has no hours.
