Timesheet view

A timesheet reports the time people tracked against items, inside a date range. The view reads one tracked time field, chosen in the view’s settings.

Every figure on screen is the seconds logged to that field within the range, and not the item’s all-time total. The figure on a parent row is the sum of everything logged underneath the parent.

Time logged on a category, such as a meeting, is listed as a row of its own beside the items. A category row counts in every group total and in the grand total. Open the row to see the time logs behind it.

Group the list by Users who tracked to see each person’s time. A person’s group holds only the items and categories that person logged time on, with their parent items above them. Every time figure in the group counts that person’s time only, so the group totals add up to the grand total.

Other columns, such as an estimate, still describe the whole item.

Grouping by a people field such as Assignees works differently. It groups the items, and each figure counts the time everybody logged on them.

The range in the toolbar belongs to you, not to the view. Anybody can change the range, and nobody else sees it change. The range is remembered for this view the next time you come back.

Pick a field to break the report down by, such as people, a team or a select field. Each value of that field becomes a column of its own, and a Total column is pinned at the end.

The same breakdown feeds the summary graph above the list. The summary band and the list can each be hidden.

A timesheet answers how much time went to an item, not how much was planned. Estimates, capacity and who is free next week belong to the schedule view.

A period filter here filters the time logs, not the items. An item with nothing logged in the range has nothing to show.
