Board view
What a board shows
Section titled “What a board shows”A board groups items by one field, the Column field in the Layout panel. Each value of that field gets a column, and items with no value get a column of their own. Turn Include empty values off in Layout to hide the columns of values with no items.
A second field, Group by, splits the board into horizontal lanes called swimlanes.
When the column or lane field is a people field, a deleted user gets no column or swimlane. A card whose only person in that field is a deleted user goes to No value.
What a card shows
Section titled “What a card shows”A card is one item, and the card shows the item’s title. Under the title come the fields you pick in Show fields.
Move a card and fold a column
Section titled “Move a card and fold a column”Drag a card to another column or lane. The drop writes the new value into the field behind that axis. Press Esc during a drag to cancel.
Hover a column header to reveal its chevron, and click the chevron to fold the column.
When an edit moves a card to another column, the card goes to the bottom of that column. This holds when the column field is a select, people, checkbox or relation field. See How cards are ordered on a board.
Add a card
Section titled “Add a card”Click Add at the end of a column. The new card takes that column and swimlane value.
Press C to open the create form instead. A card created that way takes no column or swimlane value from the board.
Zoom and open
Section titled “Zoom and open”Hold Cmd or Ctrl and turn the mouse wheel to scale the board between 50% and 150%. The Zoom picker in Layout sets the same scale.
Click a card to open the item. Right-click a card for the item menu.
