What happens when a subscription lapses

When your subscription ends, Teamhood stops answering for the organization. Editing stops, and so do reading, the public API and every personal access token. A lapsed organization therefore cannot export its own data.

Nothing is deleted. No boards, items, files, comments or history are touched, and everything comes back the moment the organization is renewed.

  • Signing in and signing out.
  • Accepting an invitation.
  • The subscription page, for whoever may manage the subscription.

Everyone else in the organization sees an explanation and has to ask that person. See Seats and members for who that person is.

  • A subscription billed through Stripe, by card or by emailed invoice, ends on its cancellation date, or as soon as Stripe ends or pauses it, for example over a payment it could not collect. The organization closes at that moment.
  • A trial, or a subscription that Teamhood invoices outside Stripe, ends by date. The check is inclusive: an organization whose end date is today still works today.

In the final week of a trial, a banner counts the days down. The banner reads “Your trial ends in 5 days”, and “Your trial ends today” on the last day.

On the subscription page itself, a status pill reads Trial, Active, Trial ended or Expired.

A member who may manage users selects Renew subscription, or Subscribe now after a trial, and pays by card. A renewal starts from the number of licenses the organization had. The organization reopens when the payment is confirmed. An organization that Teamhood invoices is reopened by Teamhood. The change can take up to 30 seconds to reach the organization.
